School Reopening 8th March

Tuesday 2nd March 2021

WELCOME BACK

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very pleased to be able to tell you that all of our children will be welcomed back on Monday 8th March 2021.

We are delighted about our school reopening on Monday. Of course, it has been a very difficult time for everyone. As you know, the teachers have been working throughout the lockdown to produce lessons for our children. We have been very pleased that so many of our children responded enthusiastically to the home-learning by sending in videos and written work. We are very grateful for the support provided at home by families.

We do not want our children to fall further behind compared to other children across the country. Therefore, it is now essential that all of our children attend school from next week. From Monday 8th March, it will be a legal duty to send children to school and local authority fines will be issued where necessary. If you think that your child may be extremely clinically vulnerable, and needs to shield, please consult your GP or other medical practitioner to certify this.

Please rest assured that we will continue to have measures in place to ensure the safety of our children and staff. We will retain our year group bubbles, which means that children will only mix with children in their own year group. We will continue to follow the latest government guidelines, including a staggered start of the day; increased hand washing/sanitising; and a deeper level of cleaning every day.

Please see the table below for the start times for each year group. The end of the day will be 3:30 for all year groups (except reception who will finish at 3pm on Monday-Thursday and 12pm on Friday).

At the end of the day, we will continue to use specific waiting areas for parents/carers who are collecting children. Once you have collected your child, please leave the site immediately and keep your distance from other people at all times.

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU WEAR A FACE COVERING WHEN ON THE SCHOOL SITE.

Things to remember

  • Please stay in your parent waiting area when dropping off/collecting your child
  • Please keep your distance from other people (2m where possible)
  • If you have children in more than one year group, please bring them at the earliest starting time of any of your children. There will be an adult waiting for your child in their classroom
  • All children must wear school uniform
  • All children must bring their own water bottle
  • All children must wear their P.E kit on the day they have P.E. Your child’s class teacher will let them know what day they have P.E upon their return
  • Please do not send your child to school with toys, balls, pens, pencil cases etc.
  • Children will not be allowed to wear masks or plastic gloves. Government guidelines say that children often cannot manage the correct use of these items
  • Children who were previously attending breakfast club will be able to continue.

There will be no before or after school sporting activities to begin with, but this will be reviewed at a later date
