Co-Curricular
At Westminster, we are determined to provide our children with the best possible experiences during their time with us. We recognise the need to ensure that our children are able to experience the joy of participation in a wide range of activities that will develop their academic abilities, personal and social skills, alongside their cultural understanding and development.
Our children have access to wonderful opportunities including:
- public speaking competitions
- debating
- courses in public speaking examined by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts
- sports clubs and coaching
- inter- school competitions
- the opportunity to audition for scholarships with the Birmingham Royal Ballet
- fully funded instrumental tuition and membership of ensembles with the opportunity to perform at prestigious venues such as Birmingham Symphony Hall
- specialist singing tuition with the opportunity to perform at external venues
- access to ‘Primary Engineers’, as a result of our collaboration with Coventry University
- access to inspirational role models through our collaborations with University of Birmingham School of Dentistry and Pinsent Masons LLP
- a wide variety of high-quality educational visits on a regular basis, including mapwork in the Peak District, theatre visits, acting as tour guides in Shakespeare’s Stratford and performing Shakespearean plays
- expert STEM workshops
We are continuously developing our co-curricular offer and are looking forward to securing yet more opportunities during this academic year. We believe that this provision is essential in developing our children’s skills, confidence and sense of wellbeing.
